NEW SERVICE COMING IN 2026
Starting in January 2026, I will be adding Corrective Exercise Training to my list of available services.
WHAT IS CORRECTIVE EXERCISE?
“Corrective” sounds like a negative thing; that you’re doing something wrong that needs correcting. But that’s not what CE is. It’s not about correcting bad form - it’s about recalibrating your muscles to fire differently.
When we live sedentary lives, or go through prolonged periods of inactivity, the length-tension relationship in our muscles changes. Some muscles get pulled into a chronic state of being “active.” Other muscles get pulled into a chronic state of being “inactive.” Then when we try reintroducing regular exercise or movement back into our lives, our brain signals and neural pathways follow the path of least resistance. That means the “active” muscles will respond to stimuli more quickly and more strongly. The “inactive” muscles may respond more slowly, less strongly, or even not at all. This could potentially lead to injury.
That’s where Corrective Exercise comes in. CE teaches “active” muscles to relax more, and “inactive” muscles to work more; so that all muscles have an opportunity to be equal and active participants.
make an impact in your community
Be Found Pilates was created with one goal in mind - to make Pilates more accessible to a wider audience. Your participation not only supports a local queer-owned business - it also gives others in your community the opportunity to experience the many benefits of Pilates.
